Manual steerage is fine by me..... yet later 114/115s had power steering as well. Right now the Bowling Green boneyard has two 116's whose steering gear I'm also thinkin about.

Doing a side-by-side comparison with string for measurement - does it appear to you the distance between shaft splines is close enough..... and how do the mounting bolts compare, hopefully identical.

Am exploring this possibility because i consider the w123 steer gear box to be the worst feature on the car...... have never seen any w123 that didnt have soft and mushy steering.
