have never seen any w123 that didnt have soft and mushy steering.
You are welcome to drive my '79. It is stiff and responsive. You would then not be able to say that.
OTOH, I would not allow you to critique my'85 300TD, even with its rebuilt box its mushy. Its an embarassment to me because I want it tight as the '79, even though is has lower miles.
I have yet to sort out the reason for this but will keep you posted.
