Question 1985

ez rider,
Is the 1985 Mercedes Benz a 126 model, or a 123 model?
Most of us here at the forum are quite aware of the differences twixt the two.........however, the 126 is BIGGER, with more power accessories etc.....it being an "S" class vehicle.
While the 123 is a smaller 4 door (or even a coupe)......[actually, the 126 was available as a coupe, ie: 560Sec and 380 Sec]***
The 123 series MAY be described as a PERHAPS more utilitarian vehicle............with each of the DIESEL models having virtually identical 617 series drivetrains........
Many regard the 617 drivetrain (cast iron block AND head) to be the longest lived of the NON-4 CYLINDER cast iron diesel models.
Check for RUST etc, and the usual drivetrain issues...Use the SEARCH feature.
Best wishes always, and lets keep those diesels humming!
