Times change. In the sixties, Fords were junk and GM made cars that were as good at what they did as any in the world. In particular, 1965-66 Cadillacs and Chevy pickups were the best.
Now, GM, IMHO, is irrelevant and Ford is making some OK products. Ford is a long way from matching Honda, Toyota, Subaru, et al., for high quality, affordable transportation, but at least their trucks are good and their performance cars have some personality.
I thought the Super Bowl commercials were telling. Ford puts out its GT, which is an admirable effort no matter how you cut it. Meanwhile, GM puts out some goofy thing that goes from a truck to a convertable and is so nifty keen that it makes all the kids say bad words. GM=BS. At least Ford is trying.
