I was once a tire brand snob. Nothing but Michelin or Bridgestone for any of my cars.

Then, Michelin took advantage of my loyalty. Five sets of expensive tires, all bad. Warranty? Haahahaha. we're Michelin, so no manufacturing defects. Must be that you misused them.

So I switched to Bridgestone. Much better. Saved a few bucks and had better performance, better life, and much better construction and build quality. No more out-of-round tires.

Then, I heard from a few people that had used Kuhmo tires. Wassat? Huh? Needing snow tires for our cars, I checked into these tires. Good reviews. Lots of "word of mouth" in the positive.

Well, for about $70 each for the KW-11 snow, what did I have to lose? If I hated them, I wasn't out a ton of cashoolah.

After a winter with some very difficult and trying conditions, I am sold on these tires. They were so close to the performance of our Blizzaks it's startling when you consider they are half the price. The tires look good, have worn well, and were easy to balance for my shop. They run smooth and so far show no signs of following my Michelins into the dumpster with most of their tread remaining.

Based on this experience, I am more than willing to try their summer tires when spring is sprung.

I would change shops. Anyone that runs down someone else's product is unprofessional and obviously not thinking about your best interests. Whether it's true or not, it's the presentation of the information that turns me off.

Kuhmo tires, in my experience so far, are not "cheap" but indeed are inexpensive. There is a great difference. Remember, they don't have the enormous expense of the Bibendum ad campaign to support...
