With the Crane system (if put on a 73 or 74 450 SEL), do you replace the points and condensor?
My initial goal was to put a Pertronix setup in a spare 73 distrib.
that I don't even have the points and condensor in because the Pertronix unit replaces all of this. However, there is no stock Pertronix listed (have called them directly) for 2 distributors I have. The Crane unit (which I know has an external control box) is listed for 73-80 450 on the jc whitney site. However the same part no. is listed for many 47-85 American cars which leads me to
believe it may be just the box and that you must use the stock points and condensor. Anybody used this unit?
Also, having trouble finding replacement condensor and wire for 73-75 450 elec. injection cars (not at Fastlane or JCW).
Anyone have a source? Dealer item still?
