Since I don't know for sure what model you're working on, I will assume that it is like the ones I have removed.
There is a bolt that goes sideways through the master cylinder and one that goes through the push rod. You will also have to remove the steel tubing at the bottom.
Henceforth, if you will thoroughly flush the entire brake and clutch hydraulic system once a year, I can almost guarantee that you will have no more hydraulic problems.
