The lapel pin is nothing to write home about (you need a magnifying glass to see the mileage figure) but the actual grille badge is an impressive enamel on brass, and most definitely adds to the distinction of the car. The certificate comes in a folder with an embossed MB star. Although it is in German, it personalizes your vehicle's model and VIN, and is genuinely signed....all rather impressive. Is there any other mfr. in the automotive world who does this kind of award program? I kind of remember seeing Rolls Royce doing it years ago but am uncertain. How many Lexus or Infinities do you see on the road with mileage badges on their grilles?
I hope to be telling you about the 500,000km badge I get for my old faithful 300E in the future.
