A stuck pedal while turning will give
you a nasty surprise and could be
seen as accelerating on its own if the
intention was to go 20mph and it accelerates
to 40mph.

I had it happen to me once and I can tell you that
it shaved 10 years off of my life.
It is an experience I don't wish on anyone,not even
my enemy.(exept maybe bigbaboon).

And most likely that is what the person meant but
didn't formulate it correctly.
