Hello,

I have a small leak from the automatic transmission on my 89-300ce. It is on the passenger side just above the pan. There are two large round (approx .2"dia.) access opening that are closed off with metal (and circlip?). The one to the rear has a small leak. Is it possible to replace the gasket/o-ring at this opening with the tranny in place or does it have to be droped.

Also, there is a vendor on e-bay selling a service manual on this tranny. Is it beyond the scope of the average DYI'er to work on a Mercedes automatic?
