As American car manufacturers have found out when you lose the perception of quality amongst consumers for your product, it is really hard to get it back.
But if you have a high perception of quality with consumers, like MB does thanks to the 80's, it is just as tough to lose it. This report will not hurt MB, BMW or VW much, but it will get people thinking American again, consumer reports is highly regarded.
Personally I am not sold....yet
