albert-don't at all want to argue, but i am an adminstrator for one of the largest benz dealerships in the country, and with starmark, it's all on a list. advisors do have to call in approval on extended warranty claims through independent companies, just not on starmark. it is possible there was a descrepancy as to the wording of the contract (as this does happen at times) and the regional SPOM had to be contacted to see if MB would pick up the tab on something not specifically mentioned. this is not by any means the normal protocal. i'm glad they finally bit and bought you the mirror though. it could be argued that the technician would be responsible for for the part as they let the car go without catching it. i hope all is well with your car in the future.
