Considering selling my 300E...What do you think it's worth?
I'm in the beginning stages of looking for a new Benz (as maybe a 2nd car and keeping mine - I don't need to sell it to buy another). I have access to NADA, KBB and Black Book figures (although I haven't checked any of them as yet). What I'm looking for here is your educated, "real world" opinions of the car's value should I indeed decide to part with it. 1990 W124 300E 3.0 - Arctic White/Blue leather, 165k miles, Eibach Pro Kit springs, Bilstein Sports, 16" AMG Monoblock replicas and clean Carfax. It has been a NC car all it's life and has never had any rust. I replaced the a/c condensor (necessity) along with recvr/drier and expansion valve (preventive) approx 2 yrs ago. Front flex disc, serpentine belt, smog pump pulley w/in the last two years, new tie rods 1 year ago and new front pads 2 mos ago. Overall, the car is in excellent condition with service records. P/O replaced the radiator and exhaust system approx 3 yrs ago. The valve guides/seals have not been addressed as it hasn't presented any problem (I assume due to excellent servicing and regular oil changes). The suspension is tight and with the improvements (shocks, springs, wheels), the car is a great handler. Sooooo, what do you guys think my car is worth? It still amazes people (and me) that the car is a '90 model as the paint is great, the interior is excellent and it's a beautiful car that still draws admiring glances. Although I realize this is a very subjective question, please give me your honest opinions. If you are "high" with your assessment, I'll be very pleased, if you're "low", you won't hurt my feelings. I think my biggest decision will be to keep it or sell it, as this car has been very solid and equally dependable.
