Remember that the 500E springs are designed for a car that weighs almost 3900 pounds. I don't think you're going to like how they work on a 190E. But anyway, I would cut 1/2 coil at a time, re-install, and drive the car. It takes a few miles of driving to settle the springs & see how high (or low) the ride height will be. I'd try them w/o cutting first to get a baseline. I think cutting 1/2 coil dropped my car about 1/2-3/4 inch, IIRC.
BTW - why not use the proper W201 Sportline springs?
