The instructions say to pump to 20. I have not exceeded that because I have a manual transmission and I'm afraid that it will blow off the clutch master cylinder tube.

With an automatic, I expect that you could go this high. That said, you only need that much pressure if the system has been open and has air in the lines. If you are simply flushing, 15 or 20 will get the job done.
