Because you were big enough to post your sad story, I now have my bolt cutters right close to the L/F fender.

I have always cracked the lines at the injectors and got engines to start except this engine when it was in the other car. Three times I had to call the neighbor over, and have him tow me and even then she took a long time too start. Like I said the engine is fairly low miles and had been well cared for, starts normally real easy.
I think there was more than luck, I think the bucket of fuel above the engine had something to do with it. It fired up with very little cranking and no cracking of lines...only several pumps of the hand pump. I know what it normally takes to get that engine going after messing with the fuel system. I normally dont have a problem except with THIS engine. I would not like to run outa fuel with this car
