Don't feel so bad as I also goofed up on reassembling the flexplate/ring gear on my 420. It took me a while to figure it out because I had the engine totally disassembled over the course of a month or so. I went back over everything, valve timing, wiring, vacuum lines, etc.,

It was a very humbling experience to say the least.
