It's unreal. I've logged a few miles now, but we've got lots of gravel left over, so getting to the open highway is not the most fun. The 1300 is almost a characture of a normal motorcycle. Everything is too much. It's too fast, too stable, accelerates too hard, brakes too hard, is too big to do what it does, and has a top speed that is too high.

There is just no way to ride it (on the highway) without giving it it's head sometimes. It's plain boring to ride at 100mph. Wind is controlled very well, the engine is loafing, and there is so much left it's insane.

However, it's comfy (the Gixxer 1000 is NOT) and can be used to ride all day as long as you can stay out of jail.

I was riding on Highway 11 past Rocky Mountain House when I came up on a riced-out Prelude doing 90km/h in the 100 zone. I left it in top and just eased around him. He matted it. I shifted and within a few seconds (JUST A FEW) the speedo was sweeping hard into 270km/h. The Honda was nowhere to be seen, being a speck for a second or two. And it was pulling hard at 270 like the C230 does in town. In Nordegg I stopped to have a Coke and my hands were shaking from the adreline surge.

There should be laws to keep these things away from Squids...
