I just did that job. Easy, once you get the glove box out.
There are screws in those holes on either side of the latch and mine were in pretty tight. I used a combination of a stubby philips and a ratchet wrench with a phillips screw socket. They are also difficult to re-install unless you use something like a short screw-holding tool (available at most auto parts places) to stab them .
I was amazed at the dirt that had accumulated over 7 years and 65K miles.
