I had a similar noise coming from that area, noticeable from outside when door was shut forcibly, also heard over rough pavement. I adjusted the hood hinge slightly and noise went away. Could also be that the water and electrical lines to the windshield nosels might need isolating. Take everything out (relatively simple) and see if noise persists.
