David,

I assume you're talking about the parcel tray behind the back seat? If so, remove your rear seat, bottom and back. Remove your speaker grills and speakers (they will be screwed into the decking and the metal beneath it). I can't remember for sure, but I think you have to pull the FAid Kit out, too, if you still have it. The remaining decking is masonite board with the fabric cover. The whole piece will slide out; make sure you bring it out straight and don't wedge it. If yours is like mine was, now is a good time to recover the shelf. My board was shabby, too, so I got some masonite from Home Depot, ordered wool fabric (not cheap!) from Hirsch, recovered and reinstalled.

The holes are relatively small, so if you want more bass, you will have to investigate. I wanted to retain the original look, so I opted for a set of Fosgates that fit in the existing holes. The sound is much improved over original, but not as good as what you might get from a 6X9. Cutting out will NOT be any fun, though....:p

Good luck!
TC
