My car has been shifting odd lately. When driving along no matter what gear the car just seems to downshift on its own. I usually have to punch it and then back off a little for the car to upshift. Does this sound like a bad kickdown switch?

It looks like I may be searching for a new car after this problem is corrected. Problems just seem to be too often as of late. However, I Guess that's to be expected for a car with 280,000 + miles.
