What is the difference between oxygen sensors for different cars if they are from the same manufacture (Bosch)?

I read that it is possible to replace the Bosch oxygen sensor for Mercedes with the sensor for 1990 Ford Mustang 302.

The GM sensor looks the same. The difference is only a connector??
