I've got my 83 300D running like a champ. I paid $560 for this car and I wasn't sure if I'd got a good deal or not. I had flaring in the transmission and the car basically was running like a dog. I also bought me a 81 300SD parts car and I was going to use the engine and tranny out of it and put it in the 300D.

I pulled the engine and tranny out of my parts car and that was a lot of work to me so I decided to see if I could get my 300D engine and tranny right. The long story cut short is tha I was able to get the flaring out of the transmission and by cleaning the banjo bolt and plugging my EGR valve my 300D is a different machine.

The only problem I think that I might have is when I go around a slow corner I have to give the car a lot of throttle before the transmission downshift, but I can live with that.

Overall I have very happy I was able to do what I did to get my 300D right and I know I could not have done that without the help on this board. Thanks.

I still have lots of reading to do because my air conditioning and cruise doesn't work. I'm not to worried about getting them to work because the search function really works.
