more info.

Emailed the previous owner about the squeak. He confirmed that it appeared after the windsheild's installation. Said that it would only happen when hot and disappeared when the car was driven in the rain. Seems to point to windshield hardware, a poor fit or possibly some stray glass form the previous windsheild. The new glass is PPG. I will try and have it looked at next week. I am reluctant to attack the trim around the glass for fear of costing myself some $$ due to a lack of proper tools and experience! If anyone can recommend a competent glass installer in the SF Bay Area (East Bay) I'd be interested. I'll post any new findings.
