I remember my brother telling me that back when he was in high school (late 80's, early 90's), it was a fad to steal Cadillac emblems and put them on backpacks. And recently, there's a girl at my school who has a Toyota emblem on her backpack that she took off of a Toyota. She does not have a Toyota to my knowledge. They may not be Benzes, but still senseless vandalism nevertheless.
