My 1972 280SE 4.5 Still won't start

I was finally able to get the Pertronix Ignitor II (91885) for my car. I now have a good solid spark. By the way Pertronix told me that I did not need the Second Strike box to replace the switch gear unit that went bad on my car. They said the Ignitor II had evrything included.

As I said after I installed the Ignitor II, I finally got a solid spark. The engine still won't start. I am now back to checking out the fuel injection system. So far here is what I know.

The fuel pump is working fine. I disconnected the fuel line to the fuel rail and allowed fuel to flow into a clean container after turning on the ignition. The fuel pump did activate. I then turn over the motor to get the fuel pump to keep pumping. I got a large quanity of gas in the container. No debris or contaimination was in the fuel. Also the gas was not weak or tarnished.

I then disconnected a fuel injector. Does anyone know how to make one of these things work if it is out of the car? I would like to know wether of not all 8 injectors are working properly.

Thanks so far for all the help.

Dana
