The slipping and neutralizing condition you have is not relayed to the P1700 code.. Did the repairing shop check the transmission fluid? I would confirm the right working and modulating pressures with a gauge. What is the condition of the Trans fluid, dropping the pan will till the condition of the transmission, does it smell burnt, any metal contamination, any signs of water in the fluid.
