Hello everyone,
First, thanks for the help.
I found a rebuilt 616 motor with 30k on it for 180 bucks. I spoke with the shop that rebuilt it and was happy to find out that it had cost the guy 3500 to have it rebuilt. It turns over with much more compression than the one I have in the 240 i recently got off EBay.
I think I'm going to slide that long block in this weekend because I am suspicious of worn rod or main bearings as I put in a different oil pump and cam and oil pressure came up for 30 seconds, then went back down to zero and wouldn't budge from there even with a little rpm. I confirmed the lack of oil pressure by not seeing any oil from the rail on the top of the cam that I also got used...
I'll post a pic sometime soon from when I pucked the car up in Raleigh.
