Crawled underneath the C280 today to examine the oil leak. Seems to be only seepage since all oil on the outside of the differential is old and dry. Interesting since the dealer at last service indicated that this needed to be addressed within the next 3 months. They indicated it would take 6 hours of repair time at a total cost of $550!!! Very interesting since it does not look as if this needs to be addressed at this time. They also indicated it needed a head gasket which it does not since it is hardly even seeping at this time.

Some of the crap that Mercedes gets for frequency of repair I think is promoted by dealers who are out to make money for unnecessary repairs. Just my 2 cents worth.
