John, I am going through the exact same thing with my TE right now. I had a new oil pump installed,,, you guessed it,,, not cheap, and the issue still exists. I am going for the new sending unit and o rings and filter, and if THAT doesn't fix it,,, I'm going to put some black tape over the guage and forget it. I understand that Mercedes quit putting oil gauges in the new cars for the same reasons.
