Fuel tank vent on a 560SL

560SL - 1986 - 175K

Is there a vent for the gas tank?

The preasure in the tank may be building too high - after I drove 2 hours today I sat ata red light and teh car stalled.

After restarting it I had trouble getting the RPM higher than 3K.

I was thinking that if the feul pump couldn't get gas from the tank, due to preasure, it might starve the enging - giving a rough ride.

The fuel pump is 5,000 mile old (about 1 year).

on the way home I drove for an hour then poped the gas cap - higher than normal preasure.

An additional symptom - on Sunday I left the car idle as I was flushing the radiator - and after 30 minutes - it stalhed.

Other than that - things are fine.

Thanks
