Valves were adjusted 5,000 miles ago. Vacuum the shutoff valve is fine; I can't imagine that would affect the shaking during idle anyway.

Could the rack damper pin really be the cause of the problem? The only thing different between now and yesterday are the mounts and shocks, and it was shaking much less at idle yesterday. The rack damper pin hasn't been touched. How can I tell if I have the old or new kind? How is it adjusted?
