The OM 616 was made in two normaly aspirated versions, one with the default 65bhp and other for the G-Wagen and MB commercial Tempo vehicles with 72bhp. The 72bhp version is quite peppy if mated to the G-18 5 speed tranny. The final tribute was paid to the OM 616 when it was turbo charged using OM 617 parts and it dveloped 91bhp. I have this particular engine in my Gurkha and can tell you that it cruises effortlessly.
