Removing the center console is fairly self-explanatory, but if you go here:

I think you are correct in putting that bulb in the #3 hole, as that appears to be the source of light to those things you mentioned. Yes, by black plastic plate I mean that secondary one, that holds the temp. wheel and buttons. I'd also make sure the four switches above the ACC panel are also getting their light before putting everything back. Sometimes when you work with them their fiber optic lines pop out of place.
