I got it done after much frustration. First, the infinity kappas (which I purchased on web) would not fit under grill in front - tweeter just too tall. Found some cheapo Pioneer speakers at Best Buy that would fit but not happy with that so kept looking. Finally got some decent eclipse
speakers that had low enough profile to work. Now have the infinity reference series in back (5 1/4 inch) and eclipse (4 inch) in front. Have sony 45 max amp deck. Used existing wiring. Total cost is about $300.

Sound is much improved. Actually rivals my new Subaru's fancy system which has a sub-woofer under drivers seat. I'd certainly recommend to anyone with a 123 chassis to do something similar.
