My 722 trans is acting up. It doesn't want to shift into 4th gear.
I was heading out on the freeway and it just wouldn't shift into 4th. Drove about 40mph @ 4000rpm to get off the freeway. It wouldn't shift manually either. Full throttle or not. When I unhooked the vacuum modulator line, plugged it and went for a drive, it shifted through all gears fine. Just shifted too firmly. So, does this sound like the modulator is bad or needs adjusting? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
