I saw this in an article on the Autoweek website, the article was a road test of the new Mercedes CDI E320

If you live in 45 of the 50 states, the E320 CDI is available at your Mercedes dealer at a $1000 premium over the gas model. Those who live in California, New York, Maine, Massachusetts and Vermont will have to wait a few years, as the car does not meet emissions regulations in those states, which are more stringent than the federal mandates. Mercedes’ diesels are expected to meet all state and federal regulations for model year 2007 since at that point, diesel engines must meet the same emissions guidelines as gasoline engines, and low-sulfur diesel fuel will be the only diesel that can be sold in the United States.

According to Bharat Balasub-ramanian, M-B’s vice president of engineering technologies and regulatory affairs, the company plans to accomplish this by using a urea injection system. Liquid urea, held in a replaceable canister in the car, would automatically be injected into the exhaust system in small amounts as the vehicle is operated. Urea neutralizes oxides of nitrogen, one of diesel’s biggest nemeses, and one of the reasons diesels have not gained wide acceptance in this country. Urea canisters could be refilled or replaced at each oil change.

Does this amount to piss injection???
