Is there a connector in the engine comparment that will allow you to get the whole assembly to the bench? I'm not familiar with MB style, but my American cars had the sensor connector just inside the engine compartment (on the wheel well). Just unpluged it and removed the whole hub assy to do bearings, etc.

Before I learned that neat trick, I destroyed one sensor @ 58.00...
