I am trying to remove the rear deck speakers in my 124.
I want to take out the speakers but leave hte grills and speaker housing in place in order to allow more bass flow through to the cabin via the subwoofer in the trunk.

However, I cannot for the life of me remove the speaker grills.
I have used the removal guide on mercedesshop.com and still have no luck.

I was told to look for small holes around the speaker in which to push up with a screwdriver and i cannot locate these. It's a '93 300D, is it possible that mine is a little different? Everyone else who has done this operation has spoken to me about removing the speakers on a 87-89.

Also - will I hear more bass coming in through such small holes? I have heard mixed reviews but I think it will be sufficient.

Can anyone PLEASE assist me with this . . .?
