I didn't bend anything, I took a piece of 1/4" dia steel and filed or ground away the business end except for the "hook that goes into the snap ring hole.

Then I brazed a short piece of same stock on the other end to make a "T" for easy pulling. I used to be a tool/model maker and I learned to make temp tooling.

The tool is still in my tool box and I will be using it again soon when I R&R my axle so I can replace the rear wheel bearings.
