for that size of a bolt a drop or 2 in the middle of the bolt is efficient. if you drop it in the middle it will evenly spread between the nut. make sure your parts are oil and dust free. however I don't know weather you should use the blue or the red stuff. I have had tons of experience with loctite in the assembly of paintball guns and other pneumatic devices. one thing I know for sure,, don't use loctite red on aluminum to steel parts. you could strip the aluminum.
