In the last few years I've done a good bit of driving on German Autobahns. I have wished many times that I could drive my 300E over there. That's exactly what it was designed for and they did their job well.

road car indeed, maybe not so fabulous as a town car, especially on narrow streets and traffic jams (but most other drivers avoid me carefully, they must have known what happens to the unfortunate one who hits a W124
)
Side note: when parking, due to low noise, very easy steering and sheer size, I feel like docking a battleship
