I am in the process of installing my brand new TWO POST LIFT! Once it is in use, I will look for the sensor.
It is hard to believe that MB would install a system designed with knock protection and then not use it. It is equally hard to believe how long that I've driven my 300E without EVER hearing any spark knock if there were no such system installed. These cars have pretty high compression, 9.2:1. How does such an engine, with the stinkingly low octane fuel that we now have, not knock unless there is such a system?
I would like to think that my lift will be completely done by next weekend and I will explore.
I have spent over 40 years of my life doing my undercar work on a stinking creeper. I am this close to having my lift working, so I'm not going to use that creeper even one more time unless it is an emergency.
After the lift is in, I plan on giving the creeper a decent memorial ceremony.
Have a great day,
