The speedo on my '80 300SD has fritzed out. The part # I need is 116 542 14 01. I have located a good used SL speedo, guaranteed to work, but the part # is 107 542 14 01. Okay, that is understandable due to the model difference. What I need to know is would the 107 work on my 116? The dial, of course, is much different; mine tops out at 80 MPH, but that would not bother me. Also, would I need to change over the speed sensor in order for my cruise to work properly? Any help will be appreciated.
