How to erase diagnostic errorcodes, EC always on!
Hi
I have a MB E220cdi -99 stw and the EC is always on.
Since I suspected that there was a lack of refrigerant I took the car to a shop and they run a test but everything seemed ok, they suggested that there was som electrical problems.
I have now checked out following info from the clima display:
05 Evaporator temp 38 C
06 Engine coolant temp 77 C
07 Refrigerant pressure 04
08 Refrigerant temp 15 C
12 Sun sensor 2,6
I also picked up following errorcodes:
416 Coolant circulation pump
231 ECT sensor
234 Sun sensor
459 Series Interface (k2) connection to instrument cluster (a1)
422 Series Interface (k1) connection to intrument cluster (a1)
424 Activated charcoal filter actuator open
241 Refrigerant fill
But since the car has been used as a taxi prior to when I bought it, and they have replaced at least the engine and the climate control display, I suspect that maybe some of the errorcodes are old, since the ECT and the climate control display (which I assume is related to the errorcode 459,422) seems to work fine.
I have found out from this site that it seems most likely that it's the evap temp sensor that causes the problem, but I would still be interrested in following questions, specially how to erase the errorcodes just to see which ones that are still actual.
Questions
1. Does a refrigerant pressure at 04 mean 0.4 or 4 bar?
2. Is there something that has to be reset due to the engine replacement?
3. Does anyone have had the same problem and share the solutions of these?
4. Does anyone know how to reset the errorcodes without a scanner tool.
5. Does anyone know the pin configuration at the 38 pin diagnostic connector.
Would appreciate anything that could be related to above, thanks.
