W210 Window Wind Noise

Hi Dave];

I found the place where it mentions the wind noise and it is the same on the 1991 300 series as it is on the 83...

It has a few minor photos on the installation pages of the door windows also, but wasn't sure as to how to include them with this post...

I think that the alignment would be about the same on a 98 vs a 91...

My CD only covered up to 91... But it would seem to me that the door/window alignment would more than likely be the creator of the wind noise...

The following info was listed under, "Doors, Removal and installation of front door", & "R and R Front Door" :

The last words on installation...

22 Adjust striker in such a manner that door paneling of driver's door is in alignment with door paneling of rear compartment door or projects by max. 1 mm.

23 Insert bolt on the door holder and lock.

24 Check door for easy operation.

Note: If required, correct position of striker eye be means of compensating shims...

25 Check distance between window frames top and roof frame and align, if required. To prevent wind noises, a distance of 21-23 mm must be assured...

End of file...

Hope it can be of help...

Cheers,
Ray
