I actually wrote MB of Canada asking if it could be imported or if their were agencies that could federalize it for the US and I got a pretty direct note back from them that bringing the Smart car (little upright two seater) would be unlawful and not endorsed by MB.

Personally I like the fortwo much better than the forfour, but I guess it all comes down to demographics.
