The KE Jetronic fuel system is shared with most models of the 16V era, and all tend to suffer from the same common problems.

Checking out the microswitch, TPS, and cleaning/adjustment/lubrication of the throttle linkage before you dive deeper into the KE system will correct most idle speed problems IMO, and they are simple tasks that shouldn't take too much time or risk screwing anything up.
"Adjusting the linkage" does not include altering the throttle stop adjustment!
