No slip rings in the W140 steering wheel, there's a long flat ribbon cable coiled up in there. I also have an SRS light on. My problem is a faulty passenger seat occupancy sensor. The SRS light goes off after a minute or so, so I'm not too bugged by it yet. The repair is on the to-do list.
